Robert R. Long

Robert R. Long, age 95 of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at U. T. Medical Center. Robert was a member of the Church Street United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of World War II and served in the Army Air Corp, 8th Air Force, 489th Bomb Group. He piloted a B24 bomber for 32 missions over Europe. Robert was retired from Middlesboro Federal Bank of Middlesboro, KY. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Dorothy Mae (Keny) Long. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Susan Long of Murfreesboro, TN, Joe and Darla Long of Maryville, TN, and Bill and Brenda Long of Ooltewah, TN; sisters, Betty Jo Davidson of Jefferson City, TN, and Billie Lu Smith of Rose Hill, VA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friend, Fran Swersky and the many other friends and Staff of Manorhouse Assisted Living, Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, 220 W. Broadway, Maryville, TN, with a 3:30 p.m. graveside service, with Military Honors, to follow at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Ashley Helton officiating.
