Robert Lee Carroll, Jr.

Robert Lee Carroll, Jr., age 86 of Maryville, passed away March 21, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 24, 1938, in Maryville, TN to Robert Lee Carroll Sr. and Wilma Young Carroll.

He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church for many years and was most recently a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church. He served on many different committees and had multiple leadership roles within his churches.

He attended Everett High School where he graduated in 1956. After graduation, he enlisted in the National Guards for six years.

He started his banking career with Park Bank in 1962. He was with CBBC from August 14, 1978, until his retirement on May 31, 2013. He was a Sr. Executive Vice President and currently served on the Board of Directors. He was a graduate of LSU Banking School.

He was a member of the Maryville Lions Club and East Tennessee Lions Eye Bank. He was a member of the Election Commission for the last 20 years.

He was a dedicated public servant and was a true pillar within the community. He was a great mentor in banking, helping many businesses and individuals through the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wilma Carroll, Sr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Hope Payne; brother-in-law, Robert Payne; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Byers.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Carroll; daughter, Lisa Hipps, son-in-law, Jamie Hipps; granddaughter and best friend, Kaylee Hipps; grand dog, Tanner Hipps; brother, William Y. Carroll, Sr. and Clara; sister, Roselyn Waters and Mose; brother-in-law, Cecil Byers; nephews, Robby Waters and Emily, Billy Carroll and Jill, Johnny Waters and Amy, Brian Carroll and Candra, Lynn Waters and Jessica, Alan Byers and Pam; several great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Greg Long officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Grandview Pavilion for the interment.
