Robert "Bob" Louis Gendron

Robert “Bob” Louis Gendron, originally of Plattsburg, NY passed away on 15 March at the age of 89. Born on 11 January 1932, he was a 1949 graduate of Plattsburg High School and was inducted into their High School Sports Hall of Fame. Bob also served his country with distinction, enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1951 as an aviation electronics technician, serving on Hurricane Hunter aircraft. Bob later attended the University of Florida and graduated in 1961. It was there he met and later married his wife of many years, Mary Williamson. The couple settled in Palm Bay, FL where Bob worked in real estate, eventually operating his own company. He is preceded in death by his parents John E. and Ida Amo Gendron, his sister Maggie, and his wife, Mary. Bob is survived by his son and daughter, Robert J. Gendron of Maryville, TN and Gina G. Gasaway of Stafford, VA. He also leaves behind daughter in-law Michelle Mathis Gendron, Son in-law Vince Gasaway, grandchildren Cristina, Robby, and Lindsay, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at in the chapel of East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery, 2200 East Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee on Wednesday, March 31 at 10 a.m.
