Robert Allen Tim Daley, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in Maryville, Tennessee. Tim was born August 13, 1934 to Edward Allen and Margaret (Steingoetter) Daley in Belleville, Illinois. Tim graduated from Belleville High School and Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1956. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Missouri Beta Chapter at Westminster. Tim was commissioned in the U.S Army, Second Lieutenant in the Counter Intelligence Corps. Tim served in Frankfurt, Germany from 1957 through 1959. After service, Tim worked for Mead Johnson pharmaceuticals in Paducah, Kentucky and the Boy Scouts of America in both Kentucky and Tennessee. He met his bride Sally Electia Lesseg in Webster Groves, Missouri in May 1956 and they married in December 1956. They began their married life in Germany. They returned to the states and lived in Paducah, Kentucky before settling in the Alcoa/Maryville Tennessee area in 1972. Tim was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville and was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Tim and Sally celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past December. Tim was an avid collector of antiques and restored furniture and clocks with great skill. He will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor. He was a true gentleman. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Herman and Jeanne Powell Lesseg, his son Robert Allen Daley, Jr. and granddaughter Anna Michele Daley. Tim is survived by his wife, Sally; son Michael Timothy (Tim) and daughter-in-law Joyce Ann Shaklee Daley of Seneca, SC, son Kevin Douglas and daughter-in-law Sheila Marie Connelly of Richmond, VA, son Sean Allen and daughter-in-law Lisa Anne Hall Daley of Louisville, TN, daughter Courtney Alison Daley Scott and son-in-law Brian Keith Scott of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Shannon Elizabeth Daley Melton and Captain Thomas Jerome Melton of Dupont, WA, Margaret Jean Maggie Daley of Greenville, SC, Jude Thomas Scott and Beau Daley Scott of Frederick, MD. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at New Providence Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Boy Scout Troop 88 at New Providence Presbyterian Church or the Welcome Table fund at New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W. Broadway Avenue, Maryville, TN 37801.
