Robbin Duane Sowder

Robbin Duane Sowder passed away at home in Maryville, TN on June 22 2018. He was born July 24, 1939 in Smithville, Indiana to Waldemar and Olive (Wilson) Sowder. He was married to Rose (Libby) Sowder (Martin) on May 28, 1971 in Spencer, Indiana. He was employed with Otis Elevator for 25 years as Supervisor of Data Processing before retiring in 1999. He and Libby moved to Tennessee in 2000. He was an avid Lady Vols fan. He enjoyed playing golf and watching racing. He was a very religious man and would spend hours reading and researching the Bible. He was ordained as a minister on October 18, 2015. He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Bloomington, Indiana until moving to Tennessee. He was a member of Freedom to Worship Church in Maryville, Tennessee until his passing. He is preceded in death by his father, Waldemar Sowder and mother, Olive (Wilson) Sowder. A brother, Donald Sowder. Two grandchildren, Melissa Renee Cohenour and Derrick Duane Sowder Bowlby. He is survived by his wife, Rose (Libby) Sowder (Martin), his daughters Julia Cohenour (Cary) and Lisa Wilson. His son, Robbin Sowder II (Valerie). 6 grandchildren: Brandon Sowder, Andrew Bowlby Jr, Makenna Sowder, Mason Sowder, Katie and Rachel Sowder. 2 great grandchildren, Aerianna Cupp and Derrick Sowder. And a brother Rodney D. Sowder. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He made an impact on the lives of those that knew him and those that he met. His going home celebration will be held on Sunday June 24 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home located at 220 West Broadway Maryville, Tennessee with Rev. John Turpin, Rev. Cary Cohenour, Rev. Charlie Lambert, Rev. Floyd Lambert and Rev. Cheryl Turpin officiating. The interment will follow in Carpenters Cemetery Best Road Maryville, Tennessee.
