Richard Stade Whittington

Whittington, Richard Stade - departed this life on Thursday, July 10th in Maryville, Tennessee. Dick's love for his family and friends was always present, and we are all blessed to have had him in our lives. Dick was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on February 2, 1929. He lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Friendsville, TN in 1978. He graduated from Landon High School and in 1951 graduated from the University of Florida Agricultural Engineering, School. Dick served as President of Florida Tractor Corporation from 1971 to 1978 at which time he became a manufacturers representative. He enjoyed a long career in farm equipment sales. Preceded in death by his loving parents, Asher Perry and Caroline Stade Whittington; son Richard Glenn Whittington and first wife Margaret Joyce Whittington. Dick is survived by loving wife and best friend, Iris Chamblin Whittington; daughter Pamela Whittington Rosenberger, son-in-law James Rosenberger; extended family and many friends, all of whom were so special to Dick. A memorial service at the graveside will be 11:00 am Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL. Visitation at the graveside will be 10:30 am Wednesday. Flowers will be welcome or donations to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
