Rev. Ronald Morton

May 4, 1940 — December 24, 2018

Rev. Ronald Morton age 78, went home to see his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Monday December 24, 2018. Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, pastor, and dear friend. Ronald was known for his faith in Jesus. He had a tireless dedication and an unexplainable love for God, his ministry, his family, and to Lamplight Full Gospel Church, where he was the founder and pastor for over 45 years. Shortly after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1970, Ronald began to evangelize, and he and his late wife, Elizabeth, began singing in a gospel quartet. Ronald also held a Sunday morning gospel radio program on WGAP radio. His foresight and vision would help build three church buildings in Maryville as the congregation grew. Only God knows how many revivals, funerals, weddings and baptisms he conducted throughout his ministry. He ordained numerous deacons, preachers, and pastors, and several churches were established by those who he ordained. Ronald left a legacy of faith and work in the ministry. He was a gentleman with great integrity. He had a genuine heart of service to God and the needs of people. He was a giver, always worrying about other people more than himself, regardless of his condition. He wanted everyone to know that"Somewhere in life, you're gonna need a friend like Jesus," and Church, I sure do love you. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Blanche Elizabeth Morton, father JH Morton, mother Josie E. Morton; brothers Lewis, John, Jimmy, Jack, Roy, his twin brother Donald, and sister Gaydene Garrett. He is survived by three daughters, Marlene Rickman and husband Jack, Lisa Hicks, Rhonda Campbell and husband Kevin; one son, Rev.
