Rev. Frank R. Snavely

December 10, 1920 — April 7, 2006

SNAVELY, Rev. Frank R., age 85 of Friendsville, passed away Friday, April 7, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific on the Coast Guard Frigate, The U. S. S. Gallup, receiving 5 battle stars. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt School of Religion and was a retired Methodist Minister, having served in both the Tennessee and Holston Conferences for many years. Rev. Snavely was a friend to many people as well as having many interests, including earning a Black Belt in Isshinryn Karate from Maryville College, for 63 years was a member of Rosicruction Order, AMORC, he taught an adult class at the Y.W.C.A., and was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Buttram Snavely. Survivors include his sons, David R. Snavely and wife Frances of Rockford, R. Keith Snavely and wife Gail of Carbondale, IL; daughter, Michal E. Bradsher and husband Jay of Knoxville; grandchildren, Justin Snavely, Garin Snavely, Erin Snavely, Brendan Snavely; step grandchildren, Jacob Bradsher and Sarah Bradsher; sister, Lucille Wilder of Corbin, KY. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darryll Rasnake and Dr. Darris Doyal officiating. The interment service will be in Middlesettlements Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 4509 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803 or the Holston United Methodist Home for Children, P. O.
