Raymond Ford Poole

Raymond Ford Poole, age 96, of Maryville, TN passed away Sunday afternoon, April 30th peacefully at his home. Raymond was born in Rockwood, TN and married the love of his life, Fannie Louise Heydel who also was born in Rockwood, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pearl Poole; loving wife, Fannie Heydel Poole; sisters, Wilma, Mildred, Margaret, Junie a niece but considered a sister; brothers, Edward and Thurman Poole; number nieces and nephews. He was a World War II Veteran and retired after 30 some years as a FAA air Traffic Controller at McGhee Tyson Airport.

Raymond and Fannie had three children, Marsha Poole Humphrey, Harold Ray Poole, and Gary Lynn Poole; grandchildren, Missy Humphrey Mohr and husband, Jeff Mohr, Christa Humphrey McGee and deceased husband, Roger McGee, Amy Cook and Bubba Barnes; great grandchildren, Greysen McGee, Presten McGee, Brian Mohr, Mia Mohr, Nathan Barbour, Taylor Barbour, and T.J. Cook.

Raymond was in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honored by receiving 5 Bronze Stars, Medal of Valor, and the Purple Heart. He loved his country, he loved Maryville and his church, Monte Vista Baptist Church where he was a member for 66 years. His favorite thing to do was to grow vegetables and deliver them to his friends and neighbors and would do anything to help anyone in need. He was an avid Maryville Rebel Football Fan and Tennessee Vol sports fan. He loved the Smoky Mountains and loved his Lord Jesus Christ his Savior. Raymond will be greatly missed but now in peace in Heaven!

The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 PM, Saturday, May 6th, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bob Dalton and Rev. Jim Beasley officiating. The interment will be at 3:00 PM Grandview Cemetery.
