Raymond A. "Sonny" Young

Raymond A. Young "Sonny", 76, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Trula, son Mark, daughter in law Bridget, grandchildren Livia and Luke who were the light of his life, sisters Phyllis West, Vada Mills, and Linda Webb (Johnny), brother in law David Mills, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Gladys Young, brothers Earl and Vernon Young, and sister Imogene Baker. Sonny was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend to all. Sonny was born and raised in Maryville and lived here all of his life. He was in the 134th Air Refueling Wing. Sonny owned and operated Sonny Young's Texaco in Maryville for many years. Then, he worked for 36 years at Delmar Haynes Pontiac. Then, he worked 4 more years at Twin City Buick. He attended Central Point Baptist Church with his family. Receiving of friends will be at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home on Friday, June 6 from 5:30 to 7:30. Celebration of life service to follow with Pastor Chris Cupp officiating the service. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Grandview Cemetery. Special thanks to his pastor Chris Cupp and all his loyal family and friends. Also, a very special thank you to Blount Memorial Hospital staff, especially Dr. Pattibandula, all of the 4th floor MICU nurses, and his CCU "Guardian Angel" nurse and family friend Becca Clark.
