Phyllis Young West

Phyllis Young West 92, of Maryville, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.

Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years William H. West and her son Jeffrey Scott West. Phyllis is survived by

her two remaining children, Stephen West of Ft Lauderdale, John West of Knoxville and their wives Leonora and Cindy. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Additionally, her sisters Vada Mills and Linda Webb, brother-in-law Johnny Webb and sister-in-law Trula Young. Several beloved nieces & nephews.

She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but love and warm memories. Phyllis worked as a medical administrator for 25 years at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville and later for Dr Kim Cline of Maryville.

She had found a second home in Parkview Senior Living Community where for the last six years, has lived among cherished new friends. In particular, Karen, Kellee, Hannah and all the staff whom she loved dearly and thought of as extended family.

She was also a devoted member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church of Maryville.

Phyllis requested that there be no long drawn out receiving of friends. And that in lieu of flowers, either donate to a favorite charity or preferably to the Field of Dreams of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.

A private burial service will take place at Sherwood Memorial on Saturday, October 14th at 3 p.m where she will rest in eternal peace next to her loving husband Billy. She will be missed.
