Peggy Walters Mcinturff

Peggy Walters McInturff passed away at home on Friday, May 24, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.E. and Ila Walters. She is survived by her husband, David McInturff; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Carolyn Walters; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Kim Plisko; grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Mollie, Sean and Nick McInturff; nephew, Brian Walters and family; niece, Sheila Forrester and family. Peggy was born in Johnson City, TN on December 4, 1948. After graduation from ETSU in 1970 she began her teaching career in Memphis. Later she moved to Maryville and taught at Lanier, Bungalow and Sam Houston School with elementary and special needs children. Leaving teaching she became a sales representative for American Greetings then later opened her own gift basket and chocolate company, Royal Express. She was Director of the federally patented Well Mate Fishing Products. Peggy was a talented piano player, talented investor, great friend and neighbor to all who knew her. She was a long time member of Fairview United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Fairview United Methodist Church Maryville on Old Niles Ferry Rd. Saturday, June 1st from 2 to 4 P.M. with a celebration of life service to follow at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Fairview United Methodist Church Food Pantry, your local animal shelter or charity of your choice.
