Peggy Stewart Walker

WALKER, Peggy Stewart, age 77 of Alcoa, died Thursday, October 11, 2001, at Asbury Acres Healthcare Center. She attended the University of Tennessee, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alcoa, was active in Girl Scouts as a member and a leader for many years and was a member of the Smoky Mountain Hiking Club. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by a son, James S. Walker and her parents, Sam and Violet Stewart. Survivors include: husband of 57 years, James Donald Walker of Alcoa; daughters, Julia M. Walker of Geneseo, NY and Shirley M. Walker of Durham, NC; two grandsons, Will and Gus Conlin. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at First Methodist Church of Alcoa, 617 Gilbert Street, Alcoa, TN 37701, with Rev. Joe Green and Rev. Ken Green officiating.
