Paul Wayne Long

Paul Wayne Long, age 72, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born June 1, 1936. He enjoyed serving the Lord in many capacities at Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He founded Airport Auto Auction in 1981. Before going home to be with the Lord, he was preceded in death by his parents, Lorena Jane (Clemens) and John Hartsell Long, Sr.; brothers, Dallas and Marvin; sister, Elnora McClanahan; brothers-in-law, Jack Davis, Howard Siler; sister-in-law, Mary Ruth (Kirby) Long and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack and Violet (Kirby) Brown and Bill and Iva (Hickman) Kirby. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Rowena (Kirby); sons, Tony (Denise McCammon) their daughter, Kristen, Trent (Amy Clabough) their children, Gabe, Laurel and Lilly; brothers, O. Joe (Ruth) and John H. of Woodsfield, OH; sisters, Dorothy Siler and Kathleen (Glenn) Grubb; brother-in-law, Wilford (Dollie) Kirby and sister-in-law, Juanita (Kirby) Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Crystal Dunn, Donna Hopwood, Beverly Hayes and Sheila Sands for providing such wonderful care. Family and friends will greatly miss him, but rejoice in knowing he has gone home to be with our Lord. Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Madison Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Cummings and Rev. Glenn Grubb officiating. The interment service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Church.
