Patrick A. Norris

Patrick (Pat) Norris of Alcoa, TN passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, October 24, 2013. He was born to the late Patrick and Julia Lorden Norris, on November 15, 1927, in Centralia, Il,. Pat served in the Navy during WWII, and later received his degree from Southern Illinois University. He married Peggy Childress in 1951 and they lived in a number of southern cities prior to settling in Blount County in 1970 at which time he accepted a position at the Bank of Maryville. Pat was dedicated to his Church, Family, Community, and Career. Prior to his move to Blount County Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Knoxville, where he served as Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, after moving to Blount County he was an active member of Our Lady Of Fatima in Alcoa TN for 42 years serving on various committees. Over the years his community contributions were many, most notably serving as United Way Chairman, President of The Red Cross, and holding various positions in the Blount County Chamber of Commerce. He had a distinguished executive career in Banking and Insurance, forming Mountain Life Insurance company with long time friend Earl Whaley, and helped establish American Fidelity Bank where he served as President, and continued to resided on various Boards into his 70s . His career allowed he and his wife Peggy to travel the world and make many friends, during their 62 year shared life. Pat is survived by his wife, Peggy, three children, Marc, Sean and Dian Trosclair, and their respective families. Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima on Saturday November 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Following the service the family will receive friends at The Fatima Center in celebration of Pats life lunch will be served. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Fatima, Catholic Church in Alcoa, TN.
