Patricia Rose Wilson

March 26, 1944 — May 31, 2013

Patricia Rose Wilson age 69, of Alcoa, TN, formerly of Clearwater, FL, passed away May 31 at home surrounded by her family after a short battle with ALS. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, met and married her true love, David in 1965. They moved to Florida in 1971, where she raised her daughters, and eventually was joined by most of her northern family where her home became the central hub for family gatherings. A stay at home mom, she took up many hobbies; gardening, tennis, pottery, macram, basket weaving, and sewing, which led to her ultimate passion for quilting. She inspired many friends and family to join in those hobbies and loved to teach and guide them. She spent countless hours making beautiful quilts and gave them to those she loved. As a big animal lover, she fostered puppies for the SPCA in Florida, then moved to Tennessee where she fostered dogs for the Tennessee Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, and remained an active supporter by donating some beautiful quilts for fundraising. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren who adored their Mimi and will miss her dearly. She was a huge part of their everyday lives. Her sisters-in-law loved her as a true sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosemary and Edward Mueller, and her brother Joseph. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David; her daughters, Christine, Alyssa, and Kelley; son-in-law, Scott; grandchildren, Ella, Wilson, Lainey and Lia; sisters, Mary and Phyllis; nieces, Andrea, Michelle, and Katie; nephews, Curtis, Jeremy, Michael, and Eric, her beloved dogs, Peanut, Lucy, and Scarlet, and so many friends that had become family to her. She was the glue that brought us together. She is gone from our lives, but never our hearts. A memorial will be held at McCammon- Ammon-Click Funeral Home (http://mccammonammonsclick.com/ for more information or to sign the guest book) on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00 pm with the family receiving visitors starting at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tennessee Valley Golden Retriever Rescue http://www.tvgrr.com/ or the ALS Association http://www.alsa.org/news/media/ in her name.
