Patricia "Pat" Endsley Kerr

May 6, 1947 — September 10, 2017

Patricia Endsley Kerr, 70, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home in Rockford. The daughter of John Leonard Endsley and Jessie Cox Endsley, Pat was raised in Friendsville. She worked for over 40 years at ALCOA before retiring to spend time with her family and engage in her personal interests. Pat loved sports, and was an avid Braves baseball fan, but her favorite sport was basketball, first at Friendsville H.S. and later as a passionate fan of UT mens teams but especially the Lady Vols. Pat was an active member of Maryville First United Methodist Church, singing in the choir, participating in Sunday School and Bible study groups and volunteering in various activities such as Welcome Table. At home Pat divided her time between raising flowers and sewing, concentrating over the past few years on quilting. An animal lover, Pat had a soft spot in her heart which led to the adoption of homeless cats and dogs over the years. Her first love throughout her married life was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising two children and supporting their activities, as well as supporting her niece and nephew and their children. Pat was a living illustration of I Corinthians 13: patient and kind, not jealous, arrogant, or rude, and her perpetual smile made every day brighter. Pat will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Survivors include husband John Kerr, son Andy (Katie) Kerr, daughter Erin (Justin) Jones, grandsons Sam and William; sister Linda (Tom) Judkins, brother John Endsley, nephew John (Stephanie) Judkins, niece Mary Ellen Judkins; grandnephews Dylan, Aidan, and Foster. A service to celebrate Pats life will be held at Maryville First UM Church (804 Montvale Station Rd.) Sunday September 17th at 2:00, the Rev. Catherine Nance officiating, followed by the receiving of friends in Wesley Hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Maryville FUMC, the Hospice Promise Foundation (c/o UT Hospice, 4435 Valley View Dr., Knoxville, TN 37917) or Tisch Brain Tumor Center (DUMC 3624, Durham, NC 27710).
