Otha Howard Atchley, age 80, died Sunday, September 20, 2015, at his home. He was born in Knoxville, TN, and he retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation as an Electronic Technician in Anchorage, AK. He loved his sons and family and the outdoors of Alaska. He moved back to his home state of Tennessee in 1998. We love and miss him very much. Preceded in death by his son, Stewart Douglas Atchley; parents, Otha Williams Atchley and Elva Grathel Worley Atchley; half-brothers, Andy, Mackie, Clint, Edward, and Jewell Atchley. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Corine Garland Atchley; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Linda Atchley, Stan and Dawn Atchley, and Stac and Cshelle Atchley; grandchildren, Andy and Cindy Atchley, Laura and Sarah Atchley, Silas and Lucas Atchley; step-grandchildren, Victoria and Lilly Jensen; sister, Joyce Atchley Dunkel; nieces and husband, Diana and Jackie Merriman, Brenda and Steve Vandergriff; great nieces and nephews, Stephen, Sarah, Sophie, and Kylie Vandergriff, Amy Merriman and husband Wes, Andrew and Abbey Merriman; great-great niece, Emma Dougherty; step great-great niece Sophia Chamberlain; and lots of Garland relatives. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Dr. John Franklin officiating. The interment will follow in Williamson Chapel Cemetery.
