JENNINGS, Opal Atrel Pinner, age 92, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Asbury Place Health Care Center in Maryville, TN after a brief illness. She lived in Covington, TN prior to her move to Maryville, TN in 1992 to live near her son. She and her husband lived in Ripley, TN for 30 years and owned a grocery store in which she worked. She was a former member of the Hurricane Hill United Methodist Church. Her special talents included the ability to grow flowers where ever she desired them to grow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemual Pinner and Minnie Florence Erwin Pinner; husband, James Avery Jennings; 4 brothers, Herbert, L. D., Dewey and W. H. Pinner; 2 sisters, Annie Laura McWilliams and Maxine Floyd. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jan and Nancy Jennings of Maryville, TN; one sister, LaVern Glover of Memphis, TN; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Ripley Memorial Gardens, Ripley, TN. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at Maley Yarbrough Funeral Home in Covington, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maryville First United Methodist Church Music Memorial Fund, 804 Montvale Station Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
