Norma Booze was born 27 January 1930 in Weston, West Virginia, the youngest daughter of Eugene and Carrie Bayne. She attended Weston High School and after graduation worked as a nursing aide. Norma married U.S. Army Lieutenant Thomas Booze in December 1951 and embarked on a journey that would take them to Germany, New York, Japan, Maryland, and Germany a second time. Along the way, Tom and Norma had four sons, Tommy, Terry, Tracy, and Timmy. Norma enjoyed travelling and the family experienced Europe, Japan, and most of the 50 states. After military retirement, they moved to Ohio, then Florida, Maryville, Florida a second time and finally settling back in Maryville. Their condo was right across the hall from Norma’s sister Betty. In later years, Norma was her sister’s caregiver until Betty’s passing in December 2019.
Mom was as sharp as a tack and always remembered the birthdays of her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed reading her “Upper Room” and other daily devotionals and taking afternoon naps in her recliner. Mom liked watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy” in the evening with daughter-in-law Judy. Norma was preceded in death by husband Tom (2004), son Timmy (1983), grandson Brian (1978), sister Sally (2002) and sister Betty (2019).
Memories of Norma’s wonderful life are remembered by sons Tommy (Susan), Woodbridge, VA, Terry (Judy), Maryville, TN and Tracy (Rene), Aurora, CO, and by: Grandchildren: Amber, Eric, Christopher, Christina , Jason, Max, and Carrie.Great Grandchildren: Hadley, Isabella, Sydney, Lilah, Natalie, Austin, TJ, Cooper, Wesley and Rory.
The family will receive friends at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with the service to follow at 2:00 pm. The interment will be at 3:00 pm at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
