3-16-2002 Nellie E. Spears Bales of Alcoa, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2002 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Yank” Bales; daughter, Betty Jean Bales; parents, Charles Henry and Mattie Mae Spears; sister, Dorothy Graves; brothers, Roy Spears, Charles Spears, Fred Spears, Robert Spears, and Paul Spears. Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Bill Murphy, Pat and Frank Cameron, both of Alcoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Pat Bales, of Maryville, Bill and Kay Bales, of Louisville; grandchildren and spouses, Mike Tuttle, Kay and Gary Brewer, Scott and Kory Cameron, Perry Cameron, Terry Tuttle, Jay Cameron, Sherri and Kenny Tipton, Rick and Tammy Bales, Debbie and Johnnie Mishoe, Angi Bales; step-grandchildren, Rick Murphy, Cindy Kizer, Dana Griffith, and Darren Rogers; great-grandchildren, Whitney Tuttle, Chad Cameron, Christopher Bales, Taylor Turner; step-great-grandchildren, Eve and Luke Caldwell, and Garrett Griffith; sister, Ruby Gooden, of Louisville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Peggy Spears, of Maryville, and Earl and Ruby Spears, of New Mattemorse, OH; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Cheryl Bales and Mildred McMillan; special thanks to U.T. Hospice personnell and Rev. Cardwell Simpson, Chaplin. Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Monday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Sherrer officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Friends Church in Friendsville for the interment service.
