Nell Shy Lewis

LEWIS, Nell Shy, age 77 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at her home in Maryville after a long illness. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church. An avid hiker and bicyclist, Mrs. Lewis loved the outdoors and life in general. She got the most out of each moment and shared it with as many people as possible. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will leave her many friends and family with lasting memories of the joy she brought to their lives. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert C. (Bob) Lewis; daughter, Karen Lewis Pflanze; parents, Newton and Osie Shy and brother, Newton Bruce Shy. She is survived by her son, Robert (Mike) Lewis and daughter-in-law, Brenda Lewis; daughter, Laurie Lee Lewis; granddaughters, Melissa Lewis Beeler and husband Brian Beeler, Jennifer Pflanze Lane and husband Jason Lane, Rebekka Pflanze; sister, Eloise Wynn; four great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery with Dr. Kenneth Gates and Dr. Philip Bembower presiding.
