Nathan Ammons Rudder, 38, of Knoxville, TN., passed away in his sleep on Friday, December 9, 2022. As a young man, Nathan was a multisport athlete at South Doyle High School competing in football, basketball, and track. In 2014, Nathan joined the Air National Guard and served in multiple deployments with the 134th Air Refueling Wing remaining active until his death reaching the rank of Senior Airman. Throughout his life, Nathan was an avid historian, military archivist, and Tennessee Volunteers sports fanatic.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold E. and Virginia Pate Ammons; uncle, Allen “Big Al” Ammons.
Nathan is survived by his father and mother; Bruce & Tana Rudder; Danielle Rudder; sons, Knox Ammons Rudder & Jaxon Ammons Rudder; brother and sister-in-law, Boone & Renee Rudder; nephew, Luke Rudder; uncles and aunts, Harold A. Ammons & Rachel Ammons II, Shawn & Sandra Ammons; aunts, Zoe Ammons & Patricia Lukosius; cousins, Bethany (Ammons) Weatherly, husband Josh & daughter Ainsley, Brittany (Ammons) Poland, husband Chris and sons Mack & Finn, Brianna (Ammons) Dempsey & husband Zack.
Family and friends will meet for a graveside service at 2:00 PM Monday, December 12th at Middlesettlements United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mike Treadway officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nathan’s sons Knox and Jaxon.
