Nancy Carolyn Wilkerson

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Carolyn Wilkerson, age 87, on February 14, 2025, at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Nancy was born on October 1,1937 in Maryville, Tennessee, to the late Harold and Margaret (Harmon) Wilkerson. She grew up in Calderwood, an ALCOA community along the Little Tennessee River, and later moved to Maryville. She was a proud graduate of the Class of 1955 at Lanier High School, and she also attended Knoxville Business School. She was employed at White Lily Flour Company in Knoxville and at Twin City Dealership in Alcoa. Nancy was passionate about University of Tennessee football and the Lady Vols and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. 

She is survived by nieces Donna Ayers (Don) Close of Signal Mountain, and Angelia (Wilkerson) McMillan of Knoxville, her nephew Michael Wilkerson of Gulf Shores, Alabama and her great nephews Travis (Tina) Close of Chattanooga, Todd (Becca) Close of Soddy Daisy, and great great nieces and nephews Gavin, Ansley, Reid and Audrey Kate Close. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Mattie (Donald) Ayers of Maryville and brother Bill (Martha) Wilkerson of Knoxville. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to close friends Larry, Linda and Cole Whitehead for their continued support throughout the years. 

Friends are invited to sign the guest register on Sunday, February 16th from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM or Monday, February 17th from 9:00 AM-1:30 PM at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 3:00 PM, Monday, February 17th at Grandview Pavilion for a service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Nancy’s memory.
