Myrtle June Bostic Cross

Myrtle June (Bostic) Cross 82, of Maryville, TN went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2014. She was born January 30, 1932 in Warren, Michigan the daughter of the late Ernest & Ina (Chaffee) Bostic. She graduated from Ava High School, Ava, Missouri. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, IL. While residing with her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Cheryl White in Maryville she attended New Hope Baptist Church. Prior to moving to Tennessee in 2011, June lived in Port Byron, IL for 50 years where she raised her family. She was fun, loving, kind and generous. She opened her home and heart to everyone she met. June always looked forward to and loved time spent with family and friends. Her hobbies over the years included crafting, cross stitch, reading, bird watching, flower gardening and putting together puzzles. She especially enjoyed listening to southern gospel music. The family would like to give special thanks to her neighbors as well as the New Hope Baptist Church family for the many prayers and expressions of love and care. She was preceded in death by her spouses, Dale Cross, Donald Tittsworth and William White, Sr.; son, Richard White; great granddaughter, Crysta White; brother, Eldon Bostic; sister, Reatone Bostic; stepson, Raymond Cross. She was the mother of Eldon and Linda White, Smyrna, GA, William and Cheryl White, Maryville, TN, Gary and Pam White, Hampton, IL, Craig Tittsworth, Knoxville, TN ; stepmother of Robert and Nancy Cross, Wilton, IA, Ronald Cross, Moscow, IA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Wanda (Bob) Tapscott, Packwood, WA and Peggy Miller, Ava, MO. Funeral services will be held at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, IL. The interment will be at Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to AMVETS.
