Monie Estel Nelson Bullard

Beloved by so many, Monie Estel Nelson Bullard, age 101 of Maryville, TN went home to be with our savior on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home following a long illness. She was so proud to be a minister’s wife and was the last remaining charter member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, on Ed Davis Road. To Monie, her family was everything. She enjoyed quilting and was well known for the beautiful quilts she made by hand. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and many church related activities. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the Rev. Franklin Bullard; daughter, Monie Ethlene Newman; parents, Edgar and Ada Nelson; sons-in-law, Donnie Newman and Lonnie Tidwell; sisters, Ella Bunch and Gertie Bunch. Survivors include her daughter, Loretta Tidwell; sister Arizona Foust; grandchildren, Robin (Michael) Tidwell-Jones; Mike (Annette) Tidwell; Jama Carver, and Brian (Rachel) Urban; she was so very proud of her 9 great grandchildren and her 11 great-great grandchildren; also survived by a special nephew, Bill (Tonya) Bunch; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, July 22, 2024, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, on Ed Davis Road with funeral services following at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jack Hitch and Rev. Allen Burchfield officiating. The interment will be 11:00 AM Thursday in Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
