Mitchell Alexander Caviness, age 30 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, and is now rejoicing in heaven with his family and friends. He was born in Reidsville, NC, later moved to Greenville, SC as a young child, then moved to Maryville in 1997 and graduated from Maryville High School. Mitch is hurting no more and now back on the 25 yard line. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Quince and Lavinia Caviness and Lynnwood Weaver; cousin, Will Caviness; and step grandfather, Wilson Blazer. Survivors include his father and stepmother, William Caviness and Sallie Blazer of Maryville; mother and stepfather, Helen and Frank Shockley of Greenville, SC; brother, Billy (Avril) Caviness of Greenville, SC; grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Weaver of Myrtle Beach, SC; uncles, Lee (Wanda) Caviness of Greensboro, NC, Lynnwood (Sharon) Weaver, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; aunt, Elizabeth (Bill) Braddy of Buena Vista, VA; nephew, Avery Caviness; step nephews, Hunter Simpson, Ian Davis and Noah Davis; first cousins, Sean (Kathy) Caviness, Jenny Caviness, Will, Libby, Macon and Cooper Braddy; step grandparents, Beunice and Leonard Shockley of Greenville, SC and Betty Blazer of Maryville, TN. A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Franklin officiating.
