Mildred “Pauline” Murphy., age 94, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on May 26, 2024. She fought many years of declining health and can now say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7-8) and she ran the race and wins it with grace and dignity. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Clara (Crowder) Hannah; infant brother, James Lloyd; husband, William (Bill) A. Murphy, Jr.; infant children, Sarah Catherine and Paul Franklin; son, Larry and infant grandson, Scott. She is survived by sons, Mike (Susan) and Chuck (Jeannie); daughter-in-law, Jeanette; grandchildren, Kelly (Jay) Zeiger and Kelly’s mother, Brenda, Micah (Chris) Hope, Miranda (Nathan) Sparks, and Jacob Murphy; great-grandchildren, Katy Zeiger, Landon and Evan Hope, Lilah and Lawson Sparks. She is also survived by brother-in-law, David (Linda) Murphy, and sister-in-law, Juanita Blair, along with many nieces and nephews.
Pauline was born November 7, 1929, in Maryville. After losing both parents by the age of 18, she met and married Bill and they raised three sons. Pauline was a strong, hardworking, righteous woman and a devoted wife of 47 years. She was a faithful caregiver to Bill during his extended illness until his passing. She was also a caregiver to many others over the years. She loved decorating, gardening, shopping, and “the Gaithers”. She was a loving and supportive Mother and Nana and was an amazing cook. Many precious memories were made around her kitchen table at holidays and Sunday dinners. We will remember and miss her dearly, but her legacy will forever live on!
The family would like to say “thank you” to all the caregivers at Asbury Place. You also became a part of her family and we will always remember your goodness and kindness. Thank you and may God bless all of you!
