Mildred Katharine Biehler

Mildred Katharine Biehler, age 91 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born in Union Hill, NJ. She was an active member of Maryville First United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of Circle 2. She loved her family and cherished her friends. She was a den mother and girl scout leader. Mrs. Biehler loved to read, loved her cats, enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and loved going to Cades Cove, the South Carolina beach and also loved her water exercise class. In the United States she traveled extensively in New England, the Northwest and Europe. Preceded in death by husband, Arthur F. Biehler, Sr.; son, Arthur F. Biehler, Jr; parents, John R. and Carrie Bayer Gove; brothers, John R. Gove, Norman B. Gove, Warren Gove. Survivors include daughter, Katharine Biehler; son, Jonathan (Karin) Biehler of Germany; daughter-in-law, Morgen Biehler of Richmond, VA; granddaughter, Alicia (James) Dettmer; great grandchildren, Wesley and Rebecca Dettmer all of Richmond, VA. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Maryville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church.
