HENRY, Michael Pleas was born in Maryville, TN on August 10, 1953. He died at Tim’s Ford State Park on August 3, 2006 after delivering a boat for his business. He was predeceased by: father, Harold Wilkinson Henry; grandparents, Oscar Pleas and Carrie Wilkinson Henry, Maryville, and Samuel Parker and Virginia Whicker Mounce, Ohio; step-father, Leo R. Caldwell; father-in-law, John (“Tudor”) Boyd, Oak Ridge; uncle, Earl Winston Henry, Maryville. Survivors include: wife, Karen Boyd Henry and son, Michael Boyd Henry, Maryville; mother, Zurma Henry Caldwell; sisters, Patricia H. Reeves (Larry), Maryville, Diana Swann Combs (Doug), Oklahoma City, OK and Phyllis H. Strange (Richard), Knoxville; brother, LTC Bruce E. Henry (fiancé, Robin Bolton), Maryville; step-brother, Bob Caldwell (Nan), San Jose, CA; mother-in-law, Emma Boyd; sister-in-law, Janet Hill (Charlie), Knoxville; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. Mike was a United States Coast Guard Licensed “Captain” Master and was known to many as “Cap’n Mike.” He owned and operated his business, Marine Contractors, Inc. He was a marine surveyor and specialized in the complete restoration of boats and in transporting boats by land or sea. He was also a licensed electrician. Mike always strove for perfection. He was a member of Pecks Memorial Methodist Church, the church attended by his ancestors for generations. Mike was so loved by all of his family and friends. He loved life! He had enormous enthusiasm for his work and in his personal life. That infectious joy will be missed by so many. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6th, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, 220 W. Broadway Avenue, Maryville, TN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pecks United Methodist Church with Rev. Mack Turner officiating. The interment will follow in Pecks United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Michael P. Henry Memorial Fund at Pecks United Methodist Church, 2438 Wilkinson Pike, Maryville, TN 37803.
