Mike “Buck†Buckner, age 50, died May 30, 2011 while on vacation in Daytona Beach, Florida. Mike graduated from Maryville High School, attended the University of Tennessee, received a Bachelors of Science degree through the USAF Education program. Employed with the Tennessee Air National Guard and 134th Air Refueling Group at McGhee Tyson Air Base, Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by grandfather, Luther Buckner of Athens; grandmother, Roxie Buckner/Watson of Englewood; grandparents, Virgil and Mary Bowen of Tinsman, Arkansas. Survived by wife, Kelly Wilson Buckner of Knoxville; Bandit Buckner; son, Cody Michael Buckner of Kingston; parents, Gene and Ann Buckner of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanine and Andrew Loope of Franklin, TN; nephew, Carter Loope; niece, Emily Loope; step grandmother, Cleeta Buckner of Athens, TN; mother-in-law, Charlotte Shultz of Lenoir City; many aunts, uncles and cousins; the “Bristol Bunchâ€; and many many brothers and sisters who wear the Military Uniform of our country. Mike is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
