Michael Charles Reis, Iii

Michael Charles Reis III – age 74, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully at Blount County Memorial Hospital on May 11, 2009. Michael and his wife moved to Maryville in January 2008 after residing in Slidell, LA for 29 years. He was the oldest son of Michael Reis, Jr. and Ann Disney of Illinois. Both a loving husband and father, he is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Kathleen Nebel and their 5 children, Madeleine of Maryville, TN; Michael and his wife Sindi of Hallandale Beach, FL; Mark and his wife Rhonda of Maryville, TN; Mitchell and his wife Staci of Helena, AL and Matthew and his wife Stephanie of Quantico, VA. He is also survived by his younger brother, William (Bill) Reis and his wife Betty of North Port, FL. Michael has 5 wonderful grandchildren, Heather, Lindsey, Cassidy, Caelan and Brett. His hobbies were reading, barbequing, and spending time with his children and grand-children. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the Marine Corps from 1954 to 1962, achieving the rank of Sergeant. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from St. Louis University, his professional career took him through various positions in Finance for the following companies: Ford Motor Company, Monsanto Chemical, Cessna Aircraft Company and McDermott International where he served as a Comptroller.
