Maxine Mickey Seaton Smith, 88, of Maryville, passed away in Midlothian, Virginia, Sunday, July 1, 2012. She was born in Maryville to the late Luther J. and Cora Seaton, March 2, 1924. Mickey graduated from Maryville High School in 1941. She married the late William L. Smith of Knoxville in 1942. They retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1970 and returned to Maryville. Mickey was an avid sports fan of the Maryville High Rebels and the UT Lady Vols. She was a member of the Mary Blount Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, an active member of the Blount County Habitat for Humanity and the Maryville First United Methodist Church until 2010. She loved to travel, and took cruise trips to Europe, the Baltic, Ireland, Alaska and Egypt. Mickey is survived by three children: Doug and Susan Smith, of Powhatan, Virginia; Mike and Dianna Smith, of Fort Worth, Texas; and, Sherry and John Hooper, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is also survived by her beloved five nieces, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7 p.m Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons Click Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sherwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to either the Joshua Research Center or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
