CLARK, Mary Wilson, age 92 of Maryville, passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Asbury Place. Mary and her beloved husband of 55 years, Frank Proffitt Clark, for many years owned and operated Frank & Mary Clark Photography in Maryville. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Mary graduated from Young High School. She attended Maryville College and UT and taught third and fourth grades combined at Galbraith Elementary School in Knoxville prior to her marriage. While at MC, she was a member of the student council, Vesper Choir and was named sophomore class beauty. A long-time member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, she was active in the Presbyterian Women's Circle and taught children's Sunday school classes. In 1937, Mary was a founding member and first president of the Junior Chilhowee Club, and was later a long-time member of the A.F.W.C. Chilhowee Club. She and her husband were active members of the Jaycees and Jaycettes Clubs of Maryville. Mary took great enjoyment from her association with two bridge clubs, which both met monthly for more than 60 years, and from the ''Gourmet Club'' she and her husband participated in monthly for over 25 years. Mary was the youngest and last surviving child of the late Audley R. and Edna M. Wilson of Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband and siblings Eugene Wilson, Theron Wilson, Catherine Kennette, Willet Wilson, Marshall Wilson, Clark Wilson, Frank Wilson and Blanche Grooms. Survivors include her sons, H. Michael Clark (Beverly), John N. Clark (Sue); daughters, Marilew C. Rudisill, Emily C. Yarborough (Bill); grandchildren, Michael Clark (Katherine), Juli C. Reynolds (Robert), Kimberly R. Plemmons (Mark), K. Michelle Rudisill, Mary Page Yarborough, John (Jay) Yarborough, Lindsey C. Sharpe (Steven), Jamie Clark; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Clark, Nicholas Clark, Hannah Plemmons, Grace Plemmons, Delaney Reynolds, Owen Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Esther H. Wilson, Helen W. Hoffmeister and Blanche Clark Badgett and husband J. N. Badgett, Jr.; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at New Providence Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the P.W.C. at New Providence Presbyterian Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
