Mary Sue Headrick Heaton, 91, of Alcoa Tennessee, went to be with our Lord on March 28, 2020 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 13, 1929 to Wade and Minnie Headrick and was married to Edwin Lane Heaton for 64 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and long-time member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she taught children and sang in the choir. She loved to dance the jitterbug and shared her love of music, fun and laughter with everyone around her.

She is survived by her three children Cindy Baker (Les), Barry Heaton (Betty), and Elizabeth Heaton (Greg Gillentine), as well as her brother Pete Headrick (Mary Lynn), grandchildren Joshua Baker, Jacob Baker, Trampas Heaton, Lori Heaton Kagley, many great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, many nieces and nephews and special friend and niece, Tara Smith Hontzas.

The family wishes to thank all who visited, gave support and prayed for, and with, Sue. The family would like to especially thank her primary caregivers Mary, Kisha and Jennifer for their care, companionship and love, as well caregivers Abigail, Marissa, Lenita and Carolyn. The family offers gratitude to the staff at BMH for allowing the family precious moments with Sue during these uncertain times. Sue would often say “God is Love” and now she is in love’s presence.

The family will be gathering for a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
