Mary Nuchols Hitch

HITCH, Mary Nuchols, age 97 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, received her education in Blount County, was a graduate of Maryville College and The University of Tennessee. Mrs. Hitch was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hitch; parents, Thomas L. and Susan Nuchols; brothers, Jim and Sam; sister, Sarah Moser. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Gail Giffin of Powell, Tip and Harriett Hitch of New Jersey; sons, Robert Hitch of Virginia and Sam Hitch of Maryville; daughter, Susann Anderson of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Edith Leitch and Maxine Hitch both of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; and her loving, caring Care Givers. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Greg Long officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at the family home.
