Mary Kathleen Bach Stewart passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24th, at the age of 101. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Bates Stewart and daughter Sandra Stewart Murphy. Survived by her granddaughter, Melisa Murphy Rotton and husband Jeffrey Connor Rotton, great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Murphy Rotton and great-grandson, Preston Stewart Connor Rotton as well as her nephew Jake Cantrell and niece Nancy Moates. Kathleen was born in Jackson, KY and moved to Etowah, TN as a teenager where she met and later married Jack Stewart. She and Jack moved to MS where Jack was stationed prior to being deployed during WWII. After Jack was deployed, Kathleen moved to OH where their daughter Sandra was born. Three years after Sandra’s birth, Jack returned from the war. Kathleen and Jack moved many times with Alcoa until finally retiring in Maryville. When her granddaughter Lisa was born, Kathleen became Grandma K. Grandma K was full of life and always smiling and laughing. She enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family. Even into her late 80s, Grandma K was going on family beach trips and taking her great-grandchildren to Disney World and Sea World. It was not uncommon to find Grandma K sitting in the floor playing with her great-grandchildren. Kathleen was all smiles, a sweet soul, and she loved being around family and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Maryville. Services will be held at 11am, Friday September 29th at Grandview Cemetery’s Pavilion.
