Mary Katherine Russell Kidd, Mimi, born January 29, 1924, to Floyd G. and Margaret Gamble Russell, of Louisville, TN, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member ofVonore United Methodist Church and Monroe County Retired TeachersAssociation. Preceded in death by her husband, Link S. Kidd; toddler son, Robert A. Bobby Kidd; sisters, Lois Russell, Elizabeth Lib Russell, Ruth Russell Bennett. Survived by, sons, Kenneth Kidd and wife, Sara, Fred Kidd and wife, Terry; daughter, Kathy Kidd and husband, Sam Benthall; grandchildren, Molly Kidd Stiltner (Brian), Russell Kidd, Dr. Chris Kidd, Jennifer Kidd, Emerson Kidd-Benthall; great-grandchildren, Nate Stiltner, Beth Stiltner; sister, Peggy Russell Miller; sister-in-law, Martha Kidd; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends, Jenny Black and the Golden Girls. Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff of Sterling House, Maryville. A wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Teacher, Nurturer, Cookie Baker, Biscuit Maker, Choir Singer, Whistler, Crossword Solver, Pecan Peddler, Book Reader, Cross-Stitcher, Bird Watcher, Squirrel Chaser, Lady Vol Fan, Role Model, Generous Soul, and Friend. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Laura Trent, pastor of Vonore United Methodist Church officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
