Mary Gladys Carroll

Mary Gladys Carroll - age 84 of Maryville, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 peacefully at home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Democratic Women's Club. She started the first Womens Parks and Rec softball league. Mary was retired from the Blount County School system where she enjoyed working with children. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert "Jiffy" Carroll; son, James Carroll; parents, E.S. and Pearl Baker Lovingood; grandson, Jaison Thomas Myers; son-in-law, Paul Nichols, and her brothers. Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Nichols; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Mike Myers; grandchildren, Donna Long and husband Bill, Angie Daniels and husband Josh, Robyn Radford and husband Lee. She loved her family, beach trips, sports, and her 9 great-grandchildren, Loren and Jamie Long, Reed, Emma, Tate, and Eliza Daniels, Caleb, Colby, and Connor Radford, and her extended family who she loved very much. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Lovingood officiating. Family and friends will meet 2:00 P.M. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service.
