Marvin Glynn Russell

Marvin Glynn Russell beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend gained his heavenly wings March 12, 2023. Born December 29, 1936 in Maryville, TN. He was a member of Greenback Memorial Church. Marvin was a master musician of the guitar. He devoted his entire life to his music and teaching thousands of students what he called “Pickin” the guitar. Marvin was the son of the late Clifford and Iva Russell of Blount County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda J. Russell and brothers Newmon and Lester Russell. He is survived by children, Michael Perkins, Lisa (Bart) Norville, Melissa Brown and Tommy Russell; grandchildren, Amanda Perkins, Caleb (Casey) Norville, Kristen (Mason) Griggs, River and Brook Barker; great-grandchildren, Raven Griggs, Stevie Burns, Aubrey and Brody Norville; brother, Gerald (Cathy) Russell; sister, Sandra (Ted) Hipps. The family will receive friends Tuesday March 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with services to follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Lon Shockley and Rev. Tater Wells officiating. The interment will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
