Marvin Douglas Walker, 92 of Walland, went to be with his Lord on June 7, 2010. Born to the later John N. Walker and Emma Haun Walker on June 24, 1917, he was proud to have served his country during WWII at places such as the Battles of Buna, New Guinea and Leyte, the Philippines, and as part of the occupation forces of Japan. He was a member of Walland United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Roy, and John R. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Gladys Nichols Walker; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Caughron; special nephew, Don White Walker and special friends, Don and Carol Story and Ben and Beverly Dalton. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at West Millers Cove for a graveside service with Don Story officiating.
