Martha Jean Cox

August 31, 1930 — July 4, 2010

July 4th 2010 Cox, Martha Harmon of Maryville, and formerly of Greenville, died in Maryville on July 4th 2010. Ms. Cox was retired as manager of operator services at AT&T Telephone Company. Prior to her retirement, she served in various positions with the telephone company in Greenville, Bristol, Knoxville and Alcoa, Tennessee, Hattisburg and Gulfport, Mississippi, and Marion and Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Maryville, where she served as Elder, and was a member of the Robert Brakebill Sunday School Class. She served various committees within the church, as well as serving as president of local womens ministries in Maryville. Ms Cox was a life member of the Clinton Chapter 193 Order of Eastern Star, and past matron of Greenville Chapter 223. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Ms. Cox was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Grace Hankins Fondaw, her father, Wallace Haskell Harmon, and her brother and sister in law, Bobby and Eula Harmon. Survivors include an aunt, Martha T. Colie, of Wilmington, North Carolina, and several couisins, some of which reside in Greenville. Special neighbors, Charlotte Burnsmier and Betty Johnson. The funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Longmire officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Greenelawn Memory Gardens in Greenville TN for the interment. www.mccammonammonsclick.com
