Martha Ann Tucker, age 82 of Alcoa, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at her home. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. She was born June 20, 1931 in Knoxville, TN, was a graduate of Knox High Class of 1949, and graduated from Ft. Sanders School of Nursing in 1952. She spent most of her career at Oak Ridge Methodist Hospital and the last 20 years as OR Supervisor where she was affectionately known as Mert. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Patrick OBleness; parents, Charles and Kate Barnitz Lynch; brothers, Lewis, John and Jim Lynch; sister, Mary Ruth Acra. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Russell L. Tucker of Alcoa; children, Michael OBleness (Tammy) of Park Hall, MD, Nancy Bradley (Greg) of Maryville, TN, Mike Tucker of Anchorage, AK, Charlotte Tucker of Charlotte, NC, Christina Redden (Robert) of Phoenix, AZ, Robert Tucker (Bobbie) of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Barnett (Bill) of Tallahassee, FL, Charleen Elliott of Hendersonville, TN; brother, Robert Lynch (Beverly) of Knoxville, TN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Rasor officiating. The interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the East TN Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadway United Methodist Church for The Brown Food Pantry, Family Promise or Helping Hands.
