Marjorie (Peggy) Robinson Mobley

Peggy led a long and full life. She graduated from Porter High School and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The University of Tennessee. She taught school for many years in Blount County. Active in the community, she was president of the Business and Professional Women, served on the board of King’s Academy and Clark’s Grove Cemetery and other organizations. 

She was an active member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church for many years teaching Sunday School, Training Union and Girls Auxiliary. After retirement, she volunteered at a mission church in Townsend with the Chilhowee Baptist Association. 

She was married to John S. Mobley for 68 years and they had two daughters, Jackie Gayle and Kathy Bernice 

Peggy is survived by her daughters, son-in-law John Caruso, granddaughter Angela Caruso and her husband Ray Brooks, and grandson William Caruso as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 at Tuckaleechee Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member and with receiving of friends at noon and funeral at 1:00 PM. Private burial will be at Clark’s Grove Cemetery.
