Marjorie Dawn Byrd

Marjorie Dawn Bradshaw Byrd, 81, entered her Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the home after a courageous 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Tremont, January 31, 1938. After the Great Smoky Mountains Park was formed, her family moved to Townsend. She later moved to Maryville in 1961. Dawn graduated from Townsend High School and Knoxville Business College. She retired from ALCOA Aluminum Company after 39 years of service. In her youth, Dawn played the piano at Bethel Baptist Church. She attended Mt.Lebanon Baptist Church for many years until her illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Loura Bradshaw; brothers Glen Bradshaw, John Bill Bradshaw, CH Bradshaw, Dale Bradshaw, and Danny Bradshaw; and sisters Georgia Bradshaw, Wilma Brooks, Jerry Stroh, Jenny Abbott, and Louise Webb. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Paul Byrd; son Terry (Lyn) Byrd and daughter Laurie Byrd; grandchildren RT (Caitlyn) Byrd, Ryan Byrd, Natalie Byrd, and Kason Sherwood; great grandson, Cameron Byrd; and many special nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Faulkner and his staff at UT Cancer Institute as well as Tabitha, Niki, and Ferrell with Blount Memorial Hospice Care who took wonderful care of Dawn. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials may be made to The University of TN Medical Center Cancer Institute: 2121 Medical Center Way, Suite 110, Knoxville, TN 37920 or through their website. The family will receive friends at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home from 5-7pm Sunday, June 2, 2019 with service to follow. The Reverend Gilbert Harris will officiate. Pallbearers will be R T Byrd, Ryan Byrd, Cody Miller, Aaron Ball, Owen Johnson and Eli Swietzer. Family and friends will meet for interment at 11:00 am Monday, June 3, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Townsend, TN.
