Marianna Gamble Bloomer passed away on November 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Arthur (Jay) Bloomer, infant daughter, Mary Rose, parents, Rex and Katherine Gamble and brother Joe Gamble. She is survived by her children, Jim (Charmaine) Bloomer of Tulsa, OK and Rex (Amy) of Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Lindsey (Eric) Martindale of Tulsa, OK and Kyle Bloomer of Tulsa, OK; and two great grandchildren. Born in Midway, TN on May 8, 1924, she graduated from Alcoa High School and Knoxville Business College. At age 17, she went to work for ALCOA in the West Plant office. It was there that she met her future husband. After ten years, she left to raise her family. She was a wonderful wife and a loving mother who lived by the bible verse from Psalm 118:24: This is the day that the Lord hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Later she worked many years as a pre-school teacher at St. Andrews Preschool. She was a lifelong member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and very active in the church until recent years. She was also a longtime member of Chilhowee Club. During her golden years she enjoyed bridge, playing golf, traveling and being with friends and family. In recent years she was a resident of Brookdale Sandy Springs Assisted Living. The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care she received and the residents for the many warm friendships she developed. The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W. Broadway Avenue, Maryville, TN 37801
