Marian Burdette Coleman of Maryville, born April 26, 1929 in Auburndale, Florida, went to be with her Lord at Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and Blount Memorial Hospital Auxiliary with over 13, 000 hours of service, Writers Association of Blount County, and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She was also a member of Alcoa High School Alumni, she was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors in Education, the University of Tennessee Board of Governors of the National Alumni Association, and the Historic Sam Houston School House Board. Preceded in death by her husband, Franklin A. Coleman; parents, John and Ruth Davis Burdette; sisters, Frances Pollard, Dorothy Stemburg, and Barbara Haven; nephew, Phillip Burdette. Survived by sons, Dave and Margaret Gaddis, Dan and Robin Gaddis, Chip and Dianne Beightol; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, John (Jack) Burdette; 9 nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 1:00 pm Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment services with Dr. Jerry Page officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
