Marian Broadhead Loy

Marian Broadhead Loy, age 89, of Maryville, died on Monday, February 21, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hull, England. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she was active for many years, particularly in the Women’s Association. She was formerly a member of the AAUW and the Chilhowee Club. Mrs. Loy was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Arthur William Loy, Captain, USN(MC) and son-in-law, Luther F. Manners, Jr. She is survived by her children, Dr. W. Allen Loy and wife Judy of Oliver Springs; Jane Manners of Maryville; and Anne O’Callahan and husband Robert of Redwood City, California; grandchildren, Richard Loy & wife Elaine, Tracy Drake and husband Alan, Jenny Manners and fiancé Jason Bryan, Caroline O’Callahan, Virginia O’Callahan, and Claire O’Callahan; sister, Joyce Vinter of West Sussex, England, and brother Kenneth of Devon, England. Ashes will be interred in a private committal at Mount Sulphur Cemetery in Grandview, Tennessee. A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, in the Sanctuary of New Providence Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson and The Rev. Dr. Philip Bembower officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Loy requested that memorials be made to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W.
