“Mark”
Mark Ruiz passed away on Wednesday February 12, 2025 at the age of 74. Loved deeply by family and friends, Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Papi) and uncle.
Mark loved to dance, sing, and play the guitar. He was a talented stained glass artist and also made kaleidoscopes, wine and jewelry. He loved politics and was an avid Trump supporter.
Family and friends describe Mark as an amazing leader, funny with a great sense of humor, generous, loving and accepting of all.
Mark received an MBA at LeTourneau University and ended his career as a manager over security for the Federal Aviation Administration in Texas. He retired to Tennessee where he and Judy have lived in Laurel Valley in the Smokey Mountains with their two dogs and two cats.
Mark was a proud veteran serving in the Army for almost 12 years and finished his career as a Staff Sergeant (E-6). He served 2 tours in DMZ in South Korea. Mark believed in duty, honor and country.
Mark is predeceased by (and reunited with) his son, Gabriel Ruiz, his brother Humberto Ruiz, his daughter Marie Doak, his mother Paula Ruiz, his father Marcelino Ruiz and his niece Luz Feliciano.
Mark is survived by his lovely wife Judy Ruiz; his children Jennie Ruiz Tiberio, Brent Busby, Lorrie Ruiz (and family), Jeffry Doak, O.K. Doak, and Jodi Doak; his grand children Gabriella Tiberio, Talia Ann Tiberio, Orion Doak, Allaina Doak, Lauren Doak, Tabitha Doak, and Roman Doak; his brother Juan Bermudez and his sister Elodia Perez; and too many nieces and nephews and family and friends to be named.
Flowers may be delivered to the viewing or the graveside service or donations may be forwarded to his wife, Judy Ruiz at 620 Hawk View Trail Townsend, TN 37882
All who wish to attend will be received for a viewing on Tuesday February 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM-12:00PM at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, 220 W. Broadway Ave Maryville, TN 37801.
All who wish to attend will be received for the funeral at 10:00 AM on Wednesday February 19, 2025, at the East Tennessee Veteran Cemetery at 2200 E Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
A light luncheon at The Abbey at the Heartland Little River Chapel at 7765 River Road, Townsend, TN 37882 will follow the funeral at about 11:30 AM Wednesday.
