Mabel Pierce Carpenter

March 25, 1921 — November 10, 2007

CARPENTER, Mabel Pierce, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007, at NHC Ft. Sanders Nursing Home in Knoxville. She was an active member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, participated in CBS sales, Primetimers, Life Beginners and exercise groups. She was a silver buyer at Kimball’s Jewelers in downtown Knoxville for 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Carpenter; father and mother, Charles and Beulah Pierce; brothers, Jim Pierce and Gene Pierce. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Eva Carpenter; grandchildren, Leah and Alex Carpenter of Maryville; brothers, Charles “Bud” Pierce of Knoxville, Kenneth Pierce and wife Elizabeth of Seymour; sisters, Patsy Dill and husband Gene of Knoxville, Ginger Wolfenbarger and husband Larry of Macon, GA; sister-in-law, Carolyn Campbell of Louisville, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn Lee (Rusty) and Marie Carpenter of Knoxville; nieces, Cissie McMahan, Kim Blake, Pam Smith all of Knoxville, Tina Neiderhauser of Manchester, TN, Anita Slayton of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nephews, Rick Carpenter, Shane Carpenter, Chic Pierce, Pat and Mike Pierce all of Knoxville, TN, Tim Washam of Somerset, KY, Kelly Pierce of Winston-Salem, NC, Bobby and Brad Pierce of Knoxville, TN, Neal Carpenter of Washington, DC, Kent Wolfenbarger of Nashville, TN; and many many wonderful friends. A memorial celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, at New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W. Broadway, Maryville, with The Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson officiating.
